IMPA's facilities' operating hours

Reading room

Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 9 PM; Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 9 AM to 8 PM.

Library

Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 6 PM.

Restaurant

Monday to Friday from ?? to 6:30 PM. Times may be changed without prior notice.

Kitchenette

Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 8 PM; Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM to 5 PM.
If you find it locked in one of these periods, one of the guards will open it upon request.
Anything that remains in the refrigerator until 6 PM on Friday will be discarded.

Housing in Rio de Janeiro

The DAPG's general recommendation of neighborhoods are Botafogo, Gávea, Humaitá, Jardim Botânico (safe, 20-30 min bus ride to IMPA) and also the neighborhood of Tijuca (safe, farther but still has bus lines directly to IMPA and more affordable).
